The Golden Beach Police Department Marine Patrol Unit operates four days a week and is assigned to cover special events throughout the year.
The officers in this unit are state-certified and have undergone extensive training in rescue operations and boating procedures.
Equipped with a 30’ Contender vessel, the Marine Patrol Unit is responsible for patrolling the three miles of intra-coastal waterways
within the Golden Beach jurisdiction and responding to emergencies in the Atlantic Ocean. The unit plays a critical role in ensuring
boater safety, enforcing boating regulations, deterring criminal activity, and protecting the local manatee population.
The Marine Patrol Unit also collaborates with various agencies, including Homeland Security, the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation
Commission, and the Marine Patrol Units of Aventura, Sunny Isles Beach, Hallandale Beach, and Bal Harbor, to enhance the
effectiveness of their operations and maintain safety on the waterways.
