“Suddenly in Command” Boating Course – April 9, 2016
With our countless waterways and picture postcard weather, it’s no wonder that boating is a favorite outdoor activity here in South Florida. Even though boating can be leisurely fun, it’s important to have an action plan in place in case emergency strikes.
The US Coast Guard Auxiliary in association with the Town of Golden Beach Police Department will be offering a free boating safety seminar to help prepare residents should they face trouble out in the water. The “Suddenly in Command” course focuses on the importance of novice boaters being prepared for emergencies. Would you know what to do if the captain becomes incapacitated or falls overboard? Would you be able to perform if put in command suddenly? If you’re a new boater or would like to have more boating emergency preparedness, don’t miss this important training seminar. The course will be administered at Town Hall on Saturday, April 9th from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Be sure to register in advance, as spots will be limited and are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
