Mayor Glenn Singer begins his tenth term as Mayor this February. Since he began his tenure as Mayor on February 15, 2005, he has placed the successful growth and development of this community among his highest priorities. A sound businessman, the Mayor’s greatest achievement has been fostering the growth of the Town’s assessed values from just over $400-million in 2007 to an overwhelming, $1.4-billion in 2022.
Attracted by the Town of Golden Beach’s beauty, aesthetics, security, prized oceanfront location, and exclusive family atmosphere, Mayor Singer moved his family to the Town in 1997. Driven by his desire to help the Town accomplish its well-defined vision for the future, he quickly immersed himself in serving his community as an involved citizen. He was first elected as a Councilmember, and after four years (one term) as a Councilmember, he was elected to his current position as Mayor.
Mayor Singer brings a multi-faceted history of success to his position. After graduating from Florida State University he spent decades practicing as a Certified Public Accountant. In 1990, recognizing massive demand for the outsourcing of payroll and employee benefits, he and his partners established the Florida-based National Business Solutions, a successful professional employer organization. In addition to his duties as Mayor, he is an active investor, lending his expertise to a number of businesses at various stages of growth in a variety of industries including real estate, technology and private equity.
Mayor Singer’s many accomplishments throughout his Administration include: the development of the New Civic Center; the overwhelming support for two G.O. Bonds totaling $21.5-million; securing the Town’s Aa2 credit rating from Moody’s; and the construction of over $63-million in Capital Projects. Capital Projects ranging from the undergrounding of utilities, to the replacement of the Town’s Drinking water systems, the replacement of two of the Town’s three bridges, and the construction of a comprehensive stormwater system to alleviate Town Flooding to name a few.
Recognizing that security is paramount to protecting our residents and their investments the Mayor has lead the effort to modernize our police department, increasing our police force to 21 Fulltime and 6 part-time officers; creating the first marine patrol and motorcycle units; and adding over 285 camera lenses to ensure that we stay ahead of our pursuit to be the safest community in the State. In 2013, our Police Department received its first State Accreditation and has successfully been reaccredited each year since then.
He is proud and excited to be leading the Town of Golden Beach into its Golden Future.
The Mayor’s vision of our Town is not complete as we undertake the development of a new re-imagined Tweddle Park and the development of the eagerly-anticipated Wellness Center.
