The Traffic Enforcement Unit is composed of two state certified motorcycle patrol officers whose primary mission is the prevention of traffic accidents. These officers are responsible for traffic law enforcement; D.U.I. related impaired drivers, and the issuance of traffic citations for traffic violations. The motorcycle officers respond to traffic accidents and are responsible for the investigation of the traffic accident scene and preparation of the documentation required for ensuing legal actions. The motorcycle officers perform a variety of other functions, including responding to calls for service, escort services for VIP visits, funerals, and providing traffic safety presentations to neighboring schools and community associations.
