The Golden Beach Police Department Marine Patrol Unit is staffed seven days per week and assigned to cover special events throughout the year. Marine Patrol Officers are state certified and have received extensive training in rescue and boating operations.
The Marine Patrol boat is a 30’ Contender and enables the department to patrol the three miles of intra-coastal waterways that make up the Golden Beach jurisdiction and also responds to emergencies on the Atlantic Ocean. Its importance cannot be understated when it comes to ensuring boater safety, compliance with boating regulations, deterrence of criminal activity, and protection of the Manatees.
Our Marine Patrol Unit participates in joint efforts with the Homeland Security, Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission, Aventura, Sunny Isle Beach, Hallandale Beach, and the Bal Harbor Island Marine Patrol Units.
